Prince’s Trust Team Programme – September 2019 course places still available

If you’re aged 16-25 and not in employment, our Prince’s Trust Team Programme course offers you:

  • the opportunity to learn in a different environment to school or college
  • a range of activities and challenges that will help develop your personal, life and employability skills
  • an insight into the fire and rescue service, through firefighting and community safety activities

On completing the course, you will be awarded the Prince’s Trust Certificate in Employment, Teamwork and Community Skills.

The course is free to attend and students aged 16-18 are entitled to apply for a bursary from our partner colleges. You will also receive all of your travel expenses.

A team-building exercise

Course programme

Week 1 – Getting to know each other.
Week 2 – Team building residential.
Weeks 3-4 – Planning the remainder of the course as well as taking part in firefighter activities and sessions.
Weeks 5-6 – Community based project.
Weeks 7-8 – Work placement, in which learners can work in the industry they have an interest in or get an insight into a range of industries.
Week 9 – CV building, interview skills and training, searching and applying for jobs, letter writing and other employability sessions.
Weeks 10-11 – Team challenge and group fundraising.
Week 12 – Final presentation. This is a celebration event in which the team will put on a presentation for friends and family as well as receive their certificates and give a short speech.
