Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue and Service (TWFRS) have today (Wednesday) published a draft plan, which outlines how they will keep communities safe across the region.

The draft Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) considers the risks specific to Tyne and Wear and how the Service will use their resources to best target these risks.

It will shape how the organisation will work to keep the community and all of their staff safe.

The new draft CRMP has been developed using a comprehensive range of data and intelligence, using public and staff ideas, to ensure the Service is investing resources in the best way.

TWFRS are inviting you to provide feedback on the plan, as your views are extremely important in developing the Service.

An eight-week period of consultation is now open and welcomes views from the public, staff and all interested parties.

Chief Fire Officer Peter Heath KFSM, said: “We are a high performing fire and rescue service and take immense pride in the quality of the services and response we provide to our community.

“The CRMP is an important document that allows us to consider and meet the changing risks in our community, and ensures the safety of the public and our firefighters.

“This new CRMP represents how we plan to best meet the evolving risks in Tyne and Wear, and our continued commitment to investment in firefighter and community safety.

“Your views on our plan are important to us and will be used to shape our services for the next three years.”
