Engagement with Whitley Bay businesses

Following a deliberate wheelie bin fire on Whitley Road, Whitley Bay town centre that spread to the commercial premises, on the evening of Friday 2nd March, Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service have been engaging with local businesses.

In a bid to help other businesses to prevent such fires occurring, potentially ruining healthy businesses and putting lives at risk over twenty surrounding properties were given arson reduction advice, fire safety checks and general fire safety advice from the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service.

The engagement follows a recent announcement from North Tyneside Business Forum that the business support organisation and Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service have established a working partnership to provide support for the business community in this important area of Fire Safety.
