To build and maintain positive and professional relationships with diverse communities across the Tyne and Wear area and work towards promoting eqaulity of opportunity in the delivery of the Authority's services in line with legislative requirements and the implementation of best practice.
Key deliverables include engaging with under represented groups to advance Community Safety, promote the Service as an employer of choice, whilst ensuring the Authority consults and communicates effectively with under represented groups throughout the Tyne and Wear area.
Applicants must have:
Experience of working and building networks with individuals, groups and organisations from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.
Knowledge of the local community and the needs of its diverse groups.
A clear understanding, working knowledge and commitment to diversity and equality and in both employment and service delivery.
Awareness of the need for political sensitivity.
Demonstrate management responsibility for both people and process.
