Application
Application forms are only available during Recruitment Campaigns. You will be asked to describe your job history and your skills in relation to the role. You will need to include 2 work references.
Assessment
Candidates successfully short listed will attend an assessment centre; this will include the following tests:
Data Entry – this will look at your typing speed and accuracy
Simulated Fire Call – focussing on your listening and recording skills whilst working in a disciplined environment.
Literacy / Numeracy – this will be assessed within data entry and the simulated fire call exercises.
Personality Profile Questionnaire – This looks at your personal attributes and your ability to complete the role of Fire Control Operator.
Interview
If successful at assessment, an interview will be conducted with a panel of 3 Service employees. Candidates are asked specific questions to determine their suitability for the role.
Medical and References
A medical conducted by our Occupational Health Team will include substance misuse and general wellbeing. Successful appointment will be subject to obtaining satisfactory references from previous employers.
Appointment is subject to obtaining satisfactory references and completion of a medical with our Occupational Health Team.
