The Taken Without Owners Consent (TWOC) initiative is being run to fall in line with the Fire & Rescue Service's Mission Statement 'To save life, reduce risk, provide humanitarian services and protect the environment'.
The initiative is being organised and run by Newcastle Arson Task Force, and is currently only being delivered within the Newcastle area. We hope this will also help to reduce car crime and lower vehicle arson. The presentation is to be aimed at young people who have been involved in vehicle crime and are working with Youth Offending Teams (YOT), Young Offroaders, Education Other Than Schools (EOThS) and other young people not attending school but who are involved with Youth Inclusion Programmes (YIP).
It is our hope that through talking in a positive way to these hard to reach groups that these young people will become ambassadors and carry our messages into the communities in which they live.
The initiative involves an interactive power point presentation in which the young people can express their opinions on the law and other matters with regard to community safety, TWOC and their environment.
