"Three Schools suffer from arson attacks every day" - Larry Stokes, Chair APB Schools Working Group

Between 2004 - 2009 Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service attended 138 school fires.

32% of these fires were started deliberately.

A large school fire can devastate not just the school but also the local community.

Fires in school buildings often follow indicator fires in external bins or toilets within the premises.
